Myths :: Hylas and Herklas

Dove headfirst into the mythic tale of Hylas and Herklas (Heracles) and Hylas’ abduction by water nymphs - especially as depicted in J. William Waterhouse’s 1896 painting ‘Hylas and the Nymphs’. Taking the story and painting as inspiration I broke up the legend into three visual parts - a contemporary triptych showing the two lovers, the pools of desire, and finally the sensual and mysterious nymphs.
